The Future City Competition (FCC) is a national program that lets 6th - 8th graders do the things engineers do: identify problems, brainstorm ideas, design solutions, test and retest, build and then share the results. Students have a blast working as a team to build a city engineered to meet the needs of a community 100 years in the future. They use math, science, technology, and writing, to solve real-world problems in this after school activity, and work as a team with a teacher and engineer mentor.
Future City teams meet weekly from September through January, and compete at the MN Regionals in January. There is no cost to participants except a commitment to your team. Program information and registration is available in fall e-news and Schoology.
